Album Review: Beyonce's '4'

It seems just like yesterday (in Beyonce years) that her last musical treat was abroad the masses.Now the King of Pop/R&B is back with her 4th ejaculation 4.In earlier reports, Bey spoke highly about her massive yet intricate inspiration for this album which resulted in her impregnating a whopping 7o tracks to decipher through.Ever-so the busy Bey,she narrowed her gusto down to 12 tracks and 3 bonus original songs + 3 remixes.In a fiscal year of female chart juggernauts  (Rihanna,Gaga,Katy Perry & Britney), Beyonce eloquently stuck her leg out and hitchhiked her ride back to the scene with a collective feast of incredible songs.Let's take a gander shall we...

Starting the album off is the infamous '1+1' ,the Dream decorated track that oozes the very nectar of raw romance.You already know what that this song snatches at my heartstrings.It's simplicity and Prince-esque essence screams ultimate love sonnet.It's pretty much challenges her previous beautiful ballad 'Dangerously In Love'. Next up is 'I Care'.It starts off with vocals Bey seldom utilizes on albums.The song tears into a memoir of thoughtless romance and the un-equivalency & tolerance she has for a spouse who just got too comfortable with lines like,"Ever since you knew your power you made me cry/Every time our love goes sour you don't sympathize!".Bey's vocals on this: It's more of what we hear during her concerts-chilling,undeniable theatrical vocals.There's a part of the song when she slapped the shit out of me where she harmonizes with the guitar matching every note with syrupy vocal acrobatics that phantoms phenomenal.Things get even more vulnerable on the smooth track written by new artist Frank Ocean- 'I Miss You'.Bey capitalizes the essence of solitude (similar to what she channeled on 'Scared of Lonely').With breathy vocals stressing," I thought that things like this gets better with time/But I still need you/Why is that/You're the only image in my mind/So I still see you around." It's a very calming,demure side of Bey-very intriguingly refreshing.It reminds me of a track Drake may have touched (Unthinkable(I'm Ready),Fall For Your Type).The official second track offering from '4' is the karma plagued Babyface decorated track ,'Best Thing I Never Had'.On first listen ,I couldn't quite grasp the songs overall effect because it was a classic Beyonce track catered to overcoming relationship fatalities with arrogance and self-empowerment sorta on the same lines as Irreplaceable.However,the anthem like vocals and drum/piano patterns made the song challenge the latter with an infectious momentum;Bey outshines the instruments with signature grunts & tiny roars in which I favor.Hip-hop heavyweights Ye' & Andre 3ooo team up with the Houston  native on the mid-tempo 9o's inspired jam 'Party'.This track reminds me of 'Fighting Temptations' w/Missy & MC Lyte,lending you that seasoned Summer love with lyrics,"Top down with the radio on & the night belongs to us/Just hold me close,don't let me go/I don't care what they say/I don't care if they talkin' tomorrow." The only vice I have about this track is that I wish it was more heavier in tempo and more of a club banger.It's a nice 2 step song tho--I like parrrty(fuck)"  :)  On 'Rather Die Young',Bey exclaims the option of dying rather than living without her companion.Ms.Knowles-Carter is really challenging her element on this track-it's as if she channeled her character in Cadillac Records with the saucy vocals starting with a more timid beginning & rising to a conundrum of,  "I'd rather  die young than live my life without you or rather not live at all !".Reminiscent of the late 8o's to early 9o's R&B slow jam factor,Bey triumphs with a genre that many artist have deserted.I fucks with this new Bey.

Bey came out and dragged me by tonsils on the tremendous 'Start Over' with lyrics that I could relate to (5 years ago..) -"I feel weak/We've been here before/Cause I feel we keep going back and forth/Maybe it's over ,maybe we're through/But I can honestly say I still love you ." The undertone instruments on this reminds me of Lisa Fischer's 'Ease The Pain' mixed with a dragged percussion that conquers.SANG Bey.It's my nourishment.Let's give love it's wings.YES! ////

When I first seen 'Love On Top' on the tracklisting of '4' ,my interest immediately peaked.After hearing it my immediate gesture was a silly giggle.Bey really took me by surprise with this track.I thought it was gonna be a slow,sultry 'Speechless' favored song-It's not.I thought I would be indulged with sexy moans and love making suggestive lyrics-I wasn't.Instead ,Beyonce once again took us on a trip through an R&B time machine and channeled the likes of Natalie Cole,Evelyn Champange King & Whitney Houston (especially on the incessant soprano notes when she sings 'YOU').Bey sings,"You're the one that gives your all/You're the one I can always call/When I need you,you make everything stop/Finally,you put my love on top!"<<--grown folks music ///32 y.o & above.If you were wondering when the old Bey was gonna resurface in the multitude of these groundbreaking tracks then you will get your feeding of it on the hip-hop tinged 'Countdown'.Rapping mixed with rapid runs,country twanged riffs,soulful hypnotic choruses and the convenient obese bass are saturated all up IN thru! The beat is appealingly busy and like a hue gumbo of all the fast paced tracks on her previous albums.The song speaks humorously about her longing devotion to her man (Jay) and how he still peaks her interest after all these years.It's a cute hip-hop ode to everlasting love.Cute.
The previously leaked 'End of Time' picks up the uptempo corridor of the album with MJ & Fela Kuti inspired drums/horn repetitive rhythms.This is one of those songs that makes it imperative to dance and feel good.Confirmation of notoriety & evident existence is embedded within the dramatic ballad 'I Am Here'.The Diane Warren written track displays a more diligent side of Beyonce as she realms a personal testimony ,"I was here/I lived,I loved/I was here/I've did,I've done everything that I've wanted/and It was more than I thought it would be".The song puts me in the mood of a more darker version of 'Halo' (the same person produced 'I Am Here' as well) and is somewhat truthful and a considerably strong contender for a pop single.Concluding '4' is the estrogen empowerment based 'Run The World (Girls)'.Significantly meant to steer the overall effect of the album it failed short to peak the masses.This song still doesn't sit to attractive to me.Yes,it boasts club anthem & overall movement.However,I think it was a little dated and not effective...making it Bey's most unsuccessful debut single to date.

Overall , '4' signifies GENUINE growth.Not that artificial growth every other artist claims they've experience readying for a new album.Bey isn't playing it safe anymore.She's embracing her status and going against the grain and birthing an entirely risky piece of work.I'm so on board with the musical story she told on this album,it's like what the sequel to 'Dangerously In Love' would have progressed to if she was to repeat that route.Revisiting the basics and refreshing it with a fresh outlook, '4' is more mature,more relaxed and less uptempo,more r&b,less pop,more gritty.In addition,I don't think that '4' is better than it's predecessors -just an exceptional addition to her commendable discography.All these factors may scale down some Bey fans with it's unexpectedness. But I believe Bey Knowles best! I give it a A-////////

The Hangover II :Movie Review

Give me a Thai family,the wolfpack + 1,a b-boy dressing miniature monkey,severed finger,facial tattoo, a coke sniffing overzealous Asian twink with a pinky finger-sized endowment,a big booty Asian transsexual with a Thai strip club full of trannys,gay sex,a monk,high speed chase in a Toyota Camry,FBI,CIA,Bangkok PD and MSNBC,a speedboat, Bangkok shanty towns,Mike Tyson singing and a comedic premise and you have The Hangover 2. 

Unlike the first installment,HO2 inhabited a more complex and adventurous plot with a more wider and cultural spectrum.However,the 9o minute time limit on this feature was a bit underwhelming-my 'hangovers' significantly lasts atleast 2 hours longer.I guess a more introductory angle was placed on the first movie,whereas in the sequel the director chose to continue without a more familiarized formula.What this movie lacked was a less relaxed execution of time and story development.In other words,I just wish it was longer.

The comedy in the movie was seemingly better than the first-thanks to Zach Galifianakis(Alan) & Ken Jeong(Mr.Chow) who dominated with there overtly humorous quotes and improvisation- 

"It's the principle?? Niggapleeze!!<<--LOL!! I was very appeased with setting and the more grimier situations in the storyline and the placement of new dilemma and characters.It was an improvement from the latter.I give 'The Hangover 2' a B+.

Album Review:Lady Gaga 'BORN THIS WAY'

 I've got my lube covered hands on a morsel of Auntie's highly anticipated 2nd effort Born This Way today and I'm inflicted with magical solitude in exact inhabitance of what I expected-COMPLETE AWE!.

 Gaga ventured so far away from her previous audible works of art from her multi-platinum FAME and invited her followers into a more darker,vintage pop,8os induced,electric vs. light eclectic stadium-esque quality of a Mother Monster Manifesto Masterpiece! .Let's stumble into this epic fathom shall we...Popping the album off is the buzz single Marry The Night which relies heavy on repetitive chorus lines and infectious lyrics.This song fucks all embodiments of the transition to night and it's perfect sense.Gaga exclaims,"I'm gonna marry the dark,make love in the stars.I'm a soldier to my own emptiness.I'm a winner!" It's the intricate yum yum of an entree to start off to a feast of delectable audible treats.Next up is album title track Born This Way,you already know what obese impact this song had on the atmosphere.It's talent subsided genre and was atop the charts for 6 consecutive weeks.It's a personal and influential favorite-this generations defunct version of 'Greatest Love of All'.
 Strobe lights,lube and recreational drugs dominates the next track on this album.Government Hooker begins with Gaga singing opera-like vocals and melts into this electronic tick-tock beat that immediately fucks my eardrums.Gaga gives us Marilyn Manson meets her vagina-the ultimate consent of rape singing ,"I wanna drink my tears tonight,I wanna drink my tears and cry.Cause I know you love me baby!"This is one of those songs that will transform sidewalks to runways.It's imperative that you get your life off of it.

 Taking negativeness from a relationship and embedding them in song,Gaga explored what she did on Bad Romance with the same prelude but with a Biblical metaphor on the fist pumping Judas.Staying true to distorted, monotone announcement vocals during the verses and pop cringed choruses throughout,Judas speaks volumes.Americano is smothered with that same Ace of Base rhythm that was popularized in the Fame Monster's Alejandro while Gaga sings about injustice,same sex marriage and all the gusto of whats wrong and right in America with a Spaniard eulogy.Leave it to Gaga to doctrine on such topics in an unorthodox way.Love it.
 Up next is Hair,another pre-released buzz single in which Gaga signifies her whole individuality being equivalent to her hair.The saxophone embedded,electronica track blasts over Gaga singing,"I just wanna be free,I just wanna be me & I wanna a lot of friends to invite me to their parties.Don't wanna change,and I don't wanna be ashamed.I'm the spirit of my hair and all the glory that I bare." It's pretty much a more solemn version of 'Born This Way'-charitable inspiration with abstract metaphor and delivery.

 Pulling from speaking a native tongue in 'Americano' ,Gaga pulls another language (German) from under her peaked latex strapped bra in the beginning of  courageous Scheiße(it's the word SHIT in German...yaaaas!).Gaga covers a topic she seldom preaches on -female empowerment.Gaga vamps,"When I'm on a mission.I rebuke my condition.If you're a strong female you don't need permission." The beat belonging to this track is pure DISGUST.Like 'Government Hooker',the sound of this song shrieks the darkest corner of a rave with glow sticks and complimentary libations in your red cup-it kicks! <<<<---WERK Germanotta!

 Things get deliciously creepy in the next track Bloody Mary.Reminiscent of dark pseudo,twisted romantic songs like Kelis's "Get Along With You" and Madonna's "Devil Wouldn't Recognize You"-Bloody Mary pulls me into a diluted trance of ultraviolet muted colors and warmth that I familiarize with Gaga oh so well.It's most definitely a different lane for her that she masters diligently.Rebels stand up! is the sypnosis for the next track Bad Kids.Gaga,once again, magnifies the weird and make it trendy and shuns conformity in today's society with lyrics ,"I'm a twit.Degenerate.Young rebel and I'm proud of it.Pump your fist If you would rather mess up than put up with this.I'm a nerd,I chew gum and smoke in your face-I'm absurd.I'm so bad,but I don't give a damn I love it when you're mad!" This song will be paramount for those kids that frowns upon the rules and rebel towards cool.I fucks with it.

 Gaga rides down the elongated mystical pavement of promise on the favorable track Highway Unicorn (Road to Love).This track has obvious 8o's atmospheric strong rock ballad remnants that will have you falling in love with no regrets."Get your rugbugs ready to rumble cause we're gonna fall in love tonight!Get your rugbugs ready to rumble cause we're gonna drink until we die tonight!" yells Gaga over the bridge of the song.Something about a romance of vodka and dying on the highway doesn't sit too well with me until Gaga sings about it-she confirms my sanity.Next up is Heavy Metal Lover .Like 'Judas' and 'Bad Romance' ,Heavy Mental Lover boasts about a different kind of love.Everyone needs it.Once again Gaga sets out on a different plateau of instruments with this scratchy,bass saturated,synth carrying,electronic ode to that crazy inconvenient love.Get you a piece! If Gaga couldn't amaze my justification anymore,she did just that on Electric Chapel .Anyone who knows my meaning knows that I praise everything 8o's (hence the 8o's tat emblazoned on my pecs) and this song scream 8o's.It sounds like a cut from a popular action-thriller-horror 8o's film-very cult,very alternative rock and especially likeable.I just can't/

 Gaga's lazy,country tinged vocals over the hammered drums and piano punches is cause for cheers and smiles on the infectious You & I .This song picks up where Speechless left off and displays Gaga's sheer talent in dynamic vocals and as a affluent writer.The track signifies about a love put on hold then revived and put on hold again followed by the chase and the affirmation of finally realizing truth in knowing that you belong together.It's campy sentimental rock/country/folk charisma is just as triumphant to the ears now as it was when she performed it live on Oprah earlier this month.LOVE.///
 Wrapping this epic-ness of a LP up is the glorious die hard love dance track Edge of Glory."It's time to feel the rush,to brush the dangerous.I'm gonna run right to the edge with you where we can both fall in LOVE!" This song reminds me of another song that I worshiped of Gaga's (So Happy I Could Die) -it puts me in that same euphoric trance.It's truly a beautiful song testing love and its many unlimited possibilities....and that saxophone breakdown in the bridge is just heaven incarnate.This song is going down as a classic in my life binder. I'm hanging on the moment with you Stefani.

 Overall,I thought all the premature tracks that Gaga was releasing prior to the release would hurt the speculation of what the album has to offer in it's entirety.However, It's completely viable to the fact that those tracks were only the beginning.Born This Way is an evolutionary upgrade from 'The Fame' & 'The Fame Monster'.Gaga propelled to new spectacularly unconquerable heights with this one.

 It's in your face depth,cultivating creativity,gutsy lyrics and transient inspiration all touched me inappropriately and I LIKED IT.Gaga came and she conquered.Hands down.Who else in line?

Jennifer Lopez LOVE?:Album Review

Remember when J.Lo was that bitch? When love didn't cost a thing? or when she repped what was Real with Ja Rule or when she asked the simple question -If you Had my love? It seemed so long ago since the last time our Jen from the Block dominated the charts and our ears with her infectious pop-urban induced musical feasts.Years after her failed Brave ,Jen was dropped from Sony after another failed Louboutins lacked chart success. However,this time she is back with a solid pop/dance/urban tinged record that will once again place her at her pinnacle.Opening the album is her first Top Ten Redone hit in almost 8 yrs,On the Floor ft.Pitbull.Following one of many Dream & Tricky Stewart's assisted tracks is the charismatic Good Hit where a confident Lopez boasts about her self-acclaimed attributes and what they can offer to whomever wants to inquire.This will most likely be a single seeing that a colorful video with elaborate choreo has already been shot for it.The Stargate produced Im Into You has that Te Amo & Whats My Name cymbal undertones and island filled theme to it with Lil Wayne featured.I don't too much care for it but it's supposedly the next single from the album.An immediate favorite of mines is the second Dream & Tricky induced Run The World which has that screwed up intro that I've grown to love on similar tracks decorated by them such as MC's Ribbon & Ciara's Ride ;it's harbors a radio friendly rhythm that's sure to peak interests.It goes 'down like Draino'.Jlo busts on them lovehaters!///JLo also taps into the uber trendy electronic hyped dance genre(as she did with 'On The Floor')with acclaimed producer Redone with Papi and the affluent Invading My Mind which was co-written by Gaga herself.Those tracks triumph with heavy bass and flirtatious melodies that will amp your position on the dance floor.The third Dream addition Villain was too saturated with the Dream's synth-smothered aesthetic for me to appreciate.It could have been deleted for all I care.However,(What Is) Love is my jam.It speaks volumes on trying love and failing and picking yourself back up and going at it again and in the end questioning the concept.Leading by example is what she wants.It has a soft melodic pump to it that rides out throughout the song,Lopez sings,"I've had blind dates.Hooked up with some real flakes.Even with some church boys.Musicians are the worst.I've tried so hard.Cuz' I'm just so die hard."<<<--I digs it.Jennifer challenges her pipes with the vulnerable Until It Beats No More-she belts about falling in love and giving her heart to someone until it beats no more.It's cute.I can see it being a single.One Love helms the same producers (D Mile) and theme as 'What Is Love'.I dig this song just the same-it's breaks down with the search for that ONE person that compliments you.I can relate.Jen sings,"I'm good on my own but I just wanna know is their just one love!"...That's a statement I need deciphered pronto.Danja touched the clapping-infused ode to breaking up on the anthem Starting Over where Jen solemnly surrenders to the complexities of loving no more.I saved the best for last.The one song that tickles my momentum is the Jimmy Joker produced and Gaga co-written Hypnotico.On first listen of this song I was vehemently hooked.The taunting intro with obese synths along with the vamp screaming out All the girls that know that their sexy..C'mon!  It's a mystical treat written within the stars.It immediately captured the very essence of a similar Gaga track I adore (So Happy I Could Die).With lyrics like,"Hungry for some yum yum.gonna get me some.All the boys are lovin' when we do our thang.We just some silly heart breakers tonight!" has Auntie Gaga written all over it.Fist Pump*.I indulge.

In all,Jennifer really made a fan of me once more.LOVE? is a solid commercial pop/urban album that will be sure to have a few more Top Ten hits plucked from the vivaciously variant track listing.The 41 year old shows that she hasnt lost her nectar for good beats and club dance music.She's winning.I give it a B-/
