The revitalization of the Billboard Awards was redeemed tonight in Vegas.Unlike other award ceremonies,this award show is different because they recognize the artists that solely pushes units and charts with their albums and singles success.Whereas other ceremonies such as the AMA's,Bet & The Grammy's and other shows give awards based on a committee of people who chooses their fate. You either have a following or not at the Billboards and these contenders MATTER when it comes to notoriety and chart conquering.Performance wise,the show didn't have any spectacular visuals, but it was nice to see all the important chart toppers and record breakers under one roof rockin' on stage and off-this is MY list of the most entertaining of the night.Let's see who made the top 5....
ONE///Beyonce-Run The World (Girls)
Bey clearly took the night with her high-octane visual screened performance.She toyed with graphic illuminations on key all while belting out the strong vocals on her single 'RTW (Girls)' in the beginning .Then she ended it with the same formula she used on the same show 7 years ago when she performed with a bunch of girls dressed identical as her and vigorous crowd participation in her rendition of Me,Myself & I.It was very different and nothing like I've seen before.She gave the ultimate blueprint on how it's done-she ate this stage with a steak knife and fork.She later joined her nephew and mom for the taking of her Millennium Award where she surprisingly thanked the old members of Destiny Child along with Kelly & Michelle and gushed over her husband by saying,"I love me some Jay!"
TWO///Cee-Lo-Fuck You
Cee-lo sparked the crown,at first,with his first #1 hit as a solo artist 'Crazy' then fled off until another track off his album then the prominent single 'Fuck You' all while propelling in the air along with his exuberant piano in a spiraling acrobatic montage that was sure to amaze.I was thoroughly impressed with the overall creativity.I mean,him & the piano pretty much weighs the same but he still braved levitating him & it several feet in the air.Dope.
THREE///Rihanna ft.B.Spears-S&M (Remix)
Opening the show is the supernova of Billboard charts from the last decade-Rihanna. Rih broke records as well as dishes becoming the youngest female artist ever to have 1o #1 singles in the span of 6 years and led the awards with 18 nominations!
She paired her sultry performance of her 1oth #1 'S&M' with another record breaking pop royalty Britney Spears.Rihanna served up angel sex kitteen oooh la la with white patent leather and handcuffs while Brit played it up in black.This performance was campy yet sexy,flirty yet saucy.The camaraderie of Rhi X Brit was infectious and extremely cute propelling it to a memorable performance reminiscent of Bey & Prince or Monica & Brandy at the Grammy's.
FOUR///Nicki Minaj & Britney Spears-Superbass & Til The World Ends (Remix)
Nicki over-zealousness and overall likeability persona shined through her rendition of her latest top 2o hit Superbass.Taylor Swift,who once publicly stated her infatuation with the artist and song which resulted in her rapping a bar on radio which spawned a viral explosion,announced the artist.Nicki drunk her Tea in the shade first paid respect to her nemesis ,KIM by bringing a big ass chicken on stage and making her Barbz ,in unison,sing ,"I'm not talking poultry when I say this chicken's frieeeeeeeeeeed!",then later kicking it off stage. Giggles* She gave an overall cute performance that was saturated with bubbly,infectious charisma thereafter then brought a very voluptuous Britney Spears onstage to co-perform her top 1o remix hit to 'Til The End of Time' that Nicki spits a triumphant verse on. FIVE///Ke$ha-Blow
I don't fancy this chick on strength but I cannot deny her participation on the Billboard charts.She delivers to her fan base hit after hit.She performed her new top 2o hit 'Blow' with strobe lights,queens and body glitter galore and surprisingly she actually displayed that she has a remnant of vocal talent. However,her team should allow themselves to be a bit more honest with her and tell her that her body is very inappropriate and that she should shy away from spandex and leotards until she devotes herself to a personal trainer.Mama's body is shaped like a bookshelf.
