Gaga explains the meaning behind 'Judas' + Lyrics revealed

April 19th is the day of reckoning, for it's the day that Auntie Gaga will unleash her second single Judas off her highly anticipated Born This Way album due out May 23rd.The song is described as being stupid, noisy, audacious, brash, bombastic, pop and funny in all the right ways. The base of the song is about being double crossed by her significant other with lyrics like ,"Even after three times he betrays me....bring him down, I'll bring him down down, a king with no crown, a king with no crown...I'm just a holy fool but baby oh baby he's so cruel, but I'm still in love with Judas, baby"...She later goes on to belt out ,"In the most Biblical sense, I am beyond repentance. 'Fame hooker, prostitute wench, vomits her mind... But in the cultural sense I just speak in future tense. Judas kiss me if offensed, or wear an ear condom next time."
|SIGH|....
One more week for the ejaculation of this song.I cannot wait.THIS lady has my best interest at heart. Her mind is on my menu of life.

The Gaga also sat down with Popjustice to dissect the song's meaning and peel off the complexities of a woman scorned in this Q&A.
Interview taken from Popjustice.

What is the BPM?
Somewhere in the region of 130. Yes, you will be dancing to this song.

Is it actually about Judas out of The Bible or is it pretending to be about Judas when in fact it is about something else?
The first time Lady Gaga played us the tune she told us that in broad terms it was about being in love with the worst guy you've ever met, but as you might expect there's more to it than that. "It's about leaving your darkness behind in order to come into the light," she added the other day. "I have a lot of things that have haunted me from my past - choices, men, drug abuse, being afraid to go back to New York, confronting old romances - and Judas represents, for me, something that is bad for me that I can't escape. I keep going back and forth between the darkness and the light in order to understand who I am." So, very broadly, the main portion of the song is about Gaga in private and the middle eight is about Gaga in public, two themes that are explored elsewhere on the album too.

Is it better than 'Bad Romance'?
It's too early to say yes but it's too close to rule it out.

Does it actually sound like 'Bad Romance'?
Well, 'Judas' is to 'Bad Romance' as 'Bad Romance' was to 'Poker Face'. It's a new experience in familiar territory, like dancing in your favourite club after it's had a new soundsystem fitted. The nods to 'Bad Romance' are deliberate - Gaga told us that while sometimes it's important to push herself in new directions, as she does  throughout the album, "sometimes I do count my stripes and make sure they’re all there, and 'Judas' was one of those records. I wanted it to be an evolution from where I’ve been before but in terms of the formula I wanted there to be something about 'Judas' that reminded people of what I’ve done in the past". So there's a post-chorus like the 'Bad Romance' "whoah-oah-oh" bit (here it's "whoah-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh I'm in love with Ju-u-das, Ju-u-das"), there are some ra-ra post-chorus hook bits ("Juda-Judas, Juda-Judas, Juda-Judas, Juda-Gaga") and the song unfolds similarly too: post-chorus, post-chorus hook, song slams in with verse one, then pre-chorus, big explosive chorus out of nowhere, then back down to post-chorus, post-chorus hook and so on.

Is it better than 'Born This Way'?
We think it is 2.5x better than 'Born This Way'. 'Born This Way' could/should only have been the lead single from the album, and it does make more sense in the context of other album tracks, but 'Judas' is more up our street. It's a pop song that's happy being 'just' a pop song and it immediately feels more 'proper Gaga' - whatever that really means - than 'Born This Way'.

Does it sound like any songs by  other notable recording artistes?
No.

Will some people dislike it?
Yes, and it is important that these people are able to accept that they are wrong. They will need your love and your respect while they come to terms with this difficult truth. Do not pity them, just offer them your help.

'Judas' will be released on April 19.
prepare to be....
That's all...

nobody should be foolled wen gaga says the is abt her "ex-life" she is just been wicked to christainity and no matter what she is not christain. Christain means christ like but gaga is not behavin the way Jesus expect from her....if she destine to rot in hell with d devil then why does she want others to follow her.....lady gaga remember u sold ur soul for fame and not to insult christainity...

Im pretty sure your not behaving the way Jesus expects from you either. We are all not perfect, no one is. You can take as you wish but I think it is about her past. Its also a meaning that you must forgive others and forgive yourself. If it wasn't for Judas then Jesus wouldn't have been crucified. Jesus forgave him because it was already written in the bible that he was gonna betray him so he couldn't do anything to change that.

The opinions of whoever posted this should be disregarded due to the fact that he/she can't even spell the word Christian! Spend less time on your soapbox and more time getting more than a 4th grade education!

Maybe the poster is just young or didn't think someone would go over their post with a fine toothed comb like some deranged english teacher with a inferiority complex.

He/She may have to go back over her spelling but you need to be taught how to talk to people, otherwise you'll live you life being called a certain word thats five letters long and starts with the letter B.

She craves fame, and portrays herself as a courageous role model who's unafraid to be her true self - Unfortunately her 'true self' suggests deep seated psychological problems. Everything she does is purely for shock value.

I think whoever wrote the first anonymous comment should really take a look in the mirror. Isn't judging others against Christ's way? Hmmm? And, right, I'm sure you're the perfect christian role model. Lol. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones...

Everyone(most) commenting are judging each other and the song. Jesus said HE is the judge, dont slash at each others. Being brothers and sisters in Christ means we should love one another. All i will say is she uses Judas....but i wish she would have used something else. Saying you love the betrayer can seem insulting to religious leaders and believers. personally it out rages part of me,like washing judas' feet with her hair, but what she writes and sings will either be a reward or it will be a downfall. I dont think God would approve of this song, it is DEFINITELY not a worship song.

Lady Gaga is like the most creative artist out there. She is bold and a genius. I was one of the first fans to listen to her when "Just Dance" came out. However, I dont think she is being a Christian. I cant and dont want to judge her, but how she acts says alot. I wish she would have just chose one when she said "This is for God and the gays". Thats the only problem that pushes me away :( sigh

Lol you are all haters. She is making an example of what experiences have been with this song. If you dont like it, dont listen to it. Its still going to bring the fame she wanted. Simple, dont like it dnt listen to it. People will choose their own path. Listening to music is liberating and entertaining, thats what she is doing. She is a genius and an awesome performer. Stop hating on her,if some of you think she is wrong then you go write a song and make it more popular.

Matt 26:24,25

but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it would have been good for that man if he had not been born. 25 Then Judas, who was betraying him, answered and said, Master, is it I? Then Jesus said unto him, Thou hast said.

By supporting Judas, Lady GaGa is supporting suicide, betrayal, murder, sin, greed, ect. ect. ect.
Judas
Betrayed the Lord with a kiss, Matt. 26:47--50 (Mark 14:43--45; Luke 22:47--48; John 18:2--5).
Hung himself, Matt. 27:5
Satan entered into Judas, Luke 22:3 (John 13:2, 26--30).

Judas was next to Satan the worst person in the Bible, and Lady GaGa is praising him.

GaGa also says "I'm just a Holy Fool" several times this is by no means Christian.

and any Christian that supports someone who supports Judas, gayness, and other sexual sins, extreme inmodesty, ect, ect, ect Which are condemed by God in the Bible. Needs to rethink and ask themselves if they really are what they claim to be.

lady Gaga is not a good influence to the young... God gave us our talents to praise Him and Glorify Him, and not to use it in vain.

ALL sin is equal in God's eyes.
we (Christians) are all like judas, we want Jesus to do something......when he doesn't...we sell him for 30 pieces of silver.....then we repent....and he takes us back. HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN.....CAST THE FIRST STONE.......God has shown me my heart...not a pretty sight....who am I (are we) to judge others.
Today.....Christians are all hung up on Morality......and overlook all the other sind of those they support, to impose their desires on others, Christian, and non-Christian.

Wow I read all of these comments. To each is own. I honestly believe jesus is forgiving and has a sense of humor as well. No one is perfect or we wouldn't be here! I think he will forgive her even if she wrote it about loving judas. All of us have loved something we shouldn't have or been blind sided. Grow up folks! Look outside the box!
