Its a rarity in today's day and age.The girl group has become extinct based on break ups,sudden deaths or simple justifications of growing apart.In this post I want to pay homage to the female groups that I've grown to adore and appreciate.Again,this is MY top 1o.How did I do?

Destiny's Child

 Am I wrong?? These 3 ladies epitomized 'triple threat'.Beauty,individuality and grace was their aesthetic.Each one of their voices were strong on their own to form one unified melodic sound to accomplish the feats of many.I'm so waiting on another album.Maybe in the near future when Bey wants to. ::coughs::Favorite Songs: Is She The Reason,Game Over,Emotions,Lose My Breath,Cater 2 U,If.

 TLC

Compiled with the most zaniest characters,the group TLC was embedded in my heart for so many years.I was obsessed with these women for the majority of the 9o's into the new millennium .Their messages in their songs,the tomboyish yet sexy demeanor's, their antics,their style (they taught me all  about condoms before the sex ed instructor) all plays a part in how legendary these women are.NO other female group has even touched their swag. En Vogue

These women had voices and harmony like NO other.Not since The Supremes has this much melodic mayhem delivered from four sisters had been so phenomenal.They were the pioneers for the 9o's girl groups.Cindy,Dawn,Maxine & Terry were like my unofficial Aunties that I always looked up to.I know.Gay right? I fuckin' love it. Favorite Songs:Don't Let Go,Lies,Give it Up ,Turn it Loose,Yesterday,Love Don't Love You,Hold on,Don't Go,Giving Him Something He Can Feel,Hooked on Your Love.

 Xscape

Take the street sass of TLC integrated with the soulful harmonies of En Vogue and have an impeccable camaraderie of sisters than can blow and kick your ass afterward.Xscape was compiled of 5 ladies whom saturated themselves in true r&b genres and soulful undertones.Their music reminds me of ghetto love with a pinch of dynamic classiness.

 SWV

Sisters With Voices...That ,they most definitely acquired.I remember when I first heard 'I'm So Into You' on the radio, I thought it was some queen with a high pitched voice.Little did I know that it was a tall female with Freddy Kruger nails and a spicy attitude.Take her and add Lele & Taj and you have the reason to me being an immense fan of their legacy and musical discography.

 The Supremes

The group that started the genre of 'girl group' was and will always be the dynamic Supremes.Diana Ross was the forefront leading with class and elegance like no other.This group overwhelmed the beacon and standard for what a 'girl group' was signified as.The mothers.Bow down please.

 Spice Girls

The biggest selling female group of all time is NOT Destiny's Child (5o million).The Spice Girls surpassed that feat with only THREE albums in production selling over 75 million albums worldwide.I was chastised so hard for favoring this colorful group of female felines in my earlier years.Their differential self-acclaimed spices were lamented into my brain and hearts.I'm so #teamspicegirls.

  The Nevada native girl group 7o2 served a different purpose in the girl group genre.They came in the game in the mid to late 9o's when TLC and SWV was in the lead.So their momentum was always mediocre and not as widespread as the latter.Nevertheless,their music was incessant in my radio.This is when I used to always purchase CD singles as oppose to the entire album.I've came a long way. Favorite Songs:Get It Together,All I Want,Star,I Still Love You,Where My Girls At,You'll Just Never Know,Gotta Leave.

Danity Kane

DK was a little sketchy to me at first (I didn't get into them until their second one album).'Welcome to the Dollhouse' completely made me do a 360.Their level of voice strength and simultaneous charm made me pay attention.Favorite Songs:Bad Girl,Lights Off,Damaged,Sucka for Love,Ecstasy,Pretty Boy.

 Pussycat Dolls

Combining sensuality,sexy choreo,barely there thrifty costumes,burlesque undertones,long hair,moans,grunts,flexibility,sub-par vocals and superb production can trial you a long way.PCD was a force to be reckoned with when the exploded on the scene.What I swore to be coined as a one hit wonder proved me tremendously wrong as these women catapulted to super-stardom with hit after hit after hit.Its a beautiful thing.Favorite Songs:Buttons,Stick Wit U,Dont Cha,When I Grow Up,Bottlepop,I Don't Need a Man,Beep.
